US Soccer Team Protests Trump and Boycotts World Cup

Postby J1M on Tue Oct 10, 2017 10:43 pm

The first signs of protest from the US Mens National Team came immediately after the election when the US team laid down and lost for the first time in Columbus against Mexico. The writing was on the wall when they took their team picture arm in arm with the opposing team, showing they were united in their determination not to play for Trump in Russia. They immediately followed up their protest by refusing to play in a 4-0 loss to Costa Rica in which players intentionally stood around while making no real effort. The protest culminated tonight when the US team lost to Trinidad and Tobago -- which is barely even a country. Omar Gonzalez (sounds like a Mexican illegal) led the protest by actually fighting against his country and scoring for the opposition.

The protest took on an international dimension when both Mexico and Costa Rica threw their matches to inferior opposition in order to seal the USA elimination from the World Cup. "Fuck Trump and fuck Russia. We don't want to play there or see any U.S. dollars spent there during the World Cup. Let's see how Putin likes our economic sanctions", said one player, who asked to remain anonymous. "We want to stay right here in the USA where professional athletes are free to kneel during the national anthem", said another player.

Qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar starts in two years.

Oh no!
Oh No!
OH NO!

OMG! We're all going to Die!

Actually . . . who really gives a FUCK!

Our President, Donald Trump isn't going to lose any sleep over this . . .

. . . and neither will I.

When they return, I will be happy to offer these "so called" athletes a job . . .

I've got some toilets for them to clean . . .

They can do that while kneeling.

Um.... Earth to Bend??? My post was satirical, which means not entirely true. You know, kind of like the fake Washington quote in your sig line? Only you are dumb enough to believe both of them  .

Good. Like Lexxy said, we have a team who knew or cares.

It would be wonderful if the NFL players also refused to play, stood arm and arm to almost empty stadiums.
They may have a few antifa and blm fans initially showing up for some good ole looting and destroying the stadium. Once the stadium was destroyed they would also leave.

Please NFL players, don't show up for anymore games, it would make our day.

For sarcasm and satire to work there needs to be some irony, and there also needs to be at least some element of truth. There is plenty of irony, but I guess I overestimated the audience on the "truth" part :emb: .

LOL - I thought this was pretty good -- I wish it was a boycott - instead of just an inferior men's team. I think it was mentioned last night - US Men's soccer even missed last two olympics

Olympics have an age limit, I think 23 or something, so it is essentially a junior tournament. The problem is when we don't qualify our young players don't get that international experience. That's why we have a team of aging veterans like Dempsey and Howard. Well, their last hurrah is over, so next cycle we will be starting with a whole new core of starters. If this team of veterans couldn't even qualify I am not optimistic for 2022.

U.S. audience for the last USMNT World Cup match was 30 million, by the way. Im sure the sponsors are among that .65436% lol. So is Vlad, who paid good bribe money to FIFA to get the World Cup in Russia.

... Plus the help that TRUMP gave him so he could Win the bid.

... Crikey! ... President TRUMP was gonna have the nexy big
"Energy Summit" over Moscow-way during the World Cup.

... Prolly have it over Podunk-way NOW that the US is staying home. :(

... But it dont matter - the US woulda prolly drawn Three "Powerhouses"
for their matches - maybe Brasil, Spain, and Australia - and then
be sent home with losses, anyway... :(

... Better to just stay home... :)
